Needs Assessment & Target Audience
The Program Committee of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), composed of physician experts, consistently strives to monitor issues and trends in the diverse areas of endocrinology. Its mission is to continually help AACE members enhance and update their knowledge so that they can provide the highest-quality care to patients.
The physician experts presenting at the Annual Scientific and Clinical Congress deliver programs designed to highlight the importance of the endocrinologist’s role in the intervention and treatment of endocrine-related diseases. Scientific, technological, economic, social, and political factors are presented so that endocrinologists are informed about the latest scientific advances and treatment modalities.
The topics and educational objectives for the 2017 program were developed from a wide variety of sources, including the Program Committee, expert and clinical advisor opinions, and literature reviews about current challenges in healthcare. Educational needs were also identified by attendees at the 2016 AACE Annual Scientific and Clinical Congress, utilizing outcome measurements focused on increasing participants’ knowledge and skills in key topics related to endocrinology. These included both quantitative and qualitative evaluations used for each accredited CME activity.
Based on these findings, the following topics were identified as being future educational needs of the AACE membership:
- General Endocrinology
- Growth Hormone/Reproductive
All physicians and allied health professionals interested in the study, diagnosis, and treatment of endocrine-related diseases.
